eibe has been certified with the seal of the Forest Stewardship Council (www.fsc-deutschland.de) in the playground equipment sector since February 2003. The seal of the public utility and independent FSC is the guarantee for the utilisation of timbers from sustainable cultivated forests.
Timber products are distinguished with the FSC trademark when they originate from exemplary managed forests. Forest management complies with the stringent environmental protection specifications set down by the Forest Stewardship Council and takes high social and economical standards into consideration. The certified forestry companies have undergone independent controls and evaluations that document compliance of the methods of operation with the FSC standards. The FSC is an international community service organisation in which environmental associations, social organisations, progressive forestry concerns and timber-manufacturing companies work in collaboration with the aim of achieving a worldwide improvement in forest cultivation.
