Cross-generational meeting point for physical activities and communication – Active course at the Mühlkanal
On Monday, 11 October 2010, Tilo Eichinger, CEO of the company eibe Produktion + Vertrieb GmbH & Co. KG, and Martin Umscheid, Mayor of Röttingen, presented the Active course at the Mühlkanal in Röttingen to the public. The Active course is not a playground in the common sense but a moving- and meeting point for the whole population, explains Tilo Eichinger. Martin Umscheid adds that all people already use the course frequently, marking that all ages are represented, from teenagers to adults and seniors.
The common project of the association of administrations Röttingen and eibe includes an agreement about the responsibility of the town Röttingen for the ground as well as for the maintenance. eibe provides the equipment and maintains this way a reference site close to its factory. By this synergy, Röttingen gained another attraction and eibe is able to present its innovative products to its international customers.
With a quotation of the University of Karlsruhe, Institute for sports and sports science, Tilo Eichinger underlines the importance of such a place:
"In the context of health promotion we can emphasize the great importance of the Active course with the target to motivate all generations for an active and healthy life style. The Active course offers optimal conditions regarding social, ergonomic and safety perspectives to do sports with less efforts, irrespective of the individual performance level of each person. The motor skills will be touched holistically by the parts stamina, strength, movability and coordination."
